Primary Care Clinics

The Moab Free Health Clinic is happy to provide Primary Care appointments available weekly with our Medical Director Dr. Rouzer and monthly with our other volunteer providers. Primary Care encompasses several different health concerns. To keep our community healthy, our primary care services include the following:

  •  Wellness exams/physicals

  • Ongoing treatment of chronic medical conditions i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, asthma, etc.

  • Referrals to outside providers/specialists

  • Low-cost lab draws

Internal Medicine

Dr. Frederic Walker, internal medicine doctor works with patients on prevention, diagnoses, and treatment of concurrent (more than one) chronic illness like diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.


Confidential HIV/STI Testing and Prevention

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) don’t discriminate. Anyone of any age, gender, or background can get one. To keep Moab healthy and informed, the Moab Free Health Clinic offers confidential testing and education. We test for HIV, Hepatitis C, syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea.

We can also help you access free pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention.

Mental Health and Counseling Services

The Moab Free Health Clinic works with several mental health professionals to bring mental health counseling and psychiatric services to our uninsured and underinsured patients. Our providers work with patients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, substance use disorders, and more. Whether you’re interested in psychiatric medication, talk therapy, or just looking for a place to start, call us to see what mental health services we can offer you.

In addition to our volunteer providers, the Clinic is proud to partner with Jacky’s Recovery Support Services, which offers peer support and group or individual therapy to patients who identify as Hispanic or Latino. The Clinic also provides patients with referrals to other mental health resources, including Four Corners Community Behavioral Health.

Women’s Health Clinic

The Moab Free Health Clinic has a robust Women’s Health program for the community, providing resources and services to women who are mid-to-low income, underinsured, or uninsured.

Services include:

  • PAP smears

  • Pelvic health exams

  • Preventative care

  • Reproductive health

  • Transgender care

  • Blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar testing

  • Referrals and follow-up as appropriate

  • Gynecology, adolescence through menopause

  • Behavioral health

  • Breast care, including exams and mammography referrals

  • Colposcopies

  • Family planning and birth control

  • Fertility and infertility assistance

  • Menopause management

Dental

Dentist Donald Frakes provides x-rays, fillings, extractions, and other dental needs. Registered Dental Hygienist Angie Settle provides routine cleanings and other preventative care.


Vision

The Moab Free Health Clinic is partnering with the Hope Alliance from Park City to provide eye care to the Moab community. If you are uninsured, underinsured, and/or at or below 200% of the FPL, register for one of our quarterly clinics to receive a full eye exam by the visiting optometrist, Dr. Scott Farrell, as well as a free pair of prescription glasses. The Clinic also offers glasses adjustments by appointment and reading glasses year round.


Patient Navigation

Do you need help paying for you prescriptions? Many pharmaceutical companies today have patient prescription assistance programs that can help low income patients pay for their medicine. The Moab Free Health Clinic can help you with the application and to get started.

We can also help connect you with local community resources that may be able to help you with food access, housing, utility assistance, domestic violence, childcare, legal aid, insurance coverage, and connection to healthcare.

Homeless Services

In addition to our general services, we offer specialized services to clients who are unhoused or homeless, which includes sleeping in a vehicle, RV, without shelter, or with family or friends (couch surfing). These services include free showers on Fridays, prescription medication storage, free health, hygiene, and harm reduction supplies, and patient navigation for connection to local resources.
