Washington has declared a state of emergency after a recent measles outbreak. There are 36 confirmed cases of measles in Washington, as well as 1 confirmed case in neighboring state Oregon. This outbreak is the largest the state has seen since 1996. Measles are extremely contagious and many people could become infected quickly. The only way to prevent measles is to receive the MMR vaccine.
If you or your child is not immunized, please contact the Southeastern Utah Health Department (435-259-5602). MMR vaccinations are $15 for uninsured children and $85 for uninsured adults.
